This Electric Vacuum Pump operates similar in principal to a Standard Air Compressor. The Automatic Vacuum Switch controls the operation of the Vacuum Pump. As the vacuum level drops in the storage tank, the Vacuum Switch turns the Vacuum Pump on until the upper limit of the vacuum is reached.

After the upper limit of the vacuum is reached the Vacuum Pump shuts off. So, just as with a Standard Air Compressor the Automatic Electric Vacuum Pump cycles on and off as needed. therefore the Vacuum Pump can be left unattended for periods of time and does not require the constant attention that a simple Vacuum Pump without automatic switches would require.

The vacuum level switch is adjustable so the maximum level of the vacuum may be adjusted if necessary.

Portable, Automatic Air Venturi Vacuum Pump Specifications:

This Air Venturi System creates a vacuum using standard shop air pressure and automatically turns on and off as required to maintain a set point.

The Automatic Vacuum Switch controls the operation of the Vacuum Pump. As the vacuum level drops in the storage tank, the Vacuum Switch turns the Air Venturi Vacuum Pump on until the upper limit of the vacuum is reached. Once the upper vacuum limit is reached the Air Venturi Vacuum Pump shuts off. The Air Venturi Vacuum Pump cycles on and off automatically as needed, therefore constant monitoring is not necessary.

  • 4.5 SCFM Vacuum Pump.
  • Uses 5 SCFM of Compressed Air.
  • 10.5 Gallon Steel Tank with Wheels, Handle, and a Bottom Drain.

Air Venturi Vacuum Generator Pump Specifications:

  • The 1/4″ NPT Air Venturi Vacuum Generator Pump creates a vacuum using compressed air.
  • The Air Venturi Vacuum’s Solid Anodized Aluminum construction allows for use in harsh, dirty environments and clean rooms.
  • Its’ straight through, filter free design helps prevent clogging from debris when machining.
  • The vacuum operates by supplying compressed air to the supply port.
  • When air pressure is applied, the Air Venturi Vacuum creates a vacuum at one end and the air is exhausted out the other end.
  • Vacuum Flow (SCFM): 4.5

  • Workholding / Fixturing calculations:
    Hold down force is calculated simply by:
    Force = (area of part being held in sq. in.) x (vacuum in psi).For Example, if you are using a 3″ round suction cup to hold a part the force applied to the part is:
    7.069 x 11.8 psi = 83 lbs. of holding force (For reference: 24″ HG=11.8 psi)
    Where 7.069 is the area of the circle (πr2) = 3.14159 x 1.52

 
Hold Down Force / Workholding / Fixturing Calculations for Air Venturi Vacuums

Hold down force is calculated simply by: Force = (area of part being held in sq. in.) x (vacuum in psi)

For example:
If you are using a 3″ round suction cup to hold a part the force applied to the part is:
7.069 x 11.8 psi = 83 lbs. of holding force (For reference: 24″ HG=11.8 psi)
Where 7.069 is the area of the circle (πr2) = 3.14159 x 1.52

Remember to allow for a safety factor.
