Carbide Point Scribe Tool: Rotary and Drag Engraving Tool

  • The Carbide Point Scribe is a solid carbide, pointed tip engraving, scribing and drag engraving tool.
  • This is both a drag engraving tool and a rotary engraving tool.
  • Extremely effective in producing very small letters, and fine lines.
  • The Carbide Point Scribe is an excellent alternative to use in place of a Diamond Drag Engraving Tool Bit. The Carbide Point drag engraving tool offers similar performance, and many additional size options in lieu of the Diamond Tool Bit.
  • Scribe, engrave, and mark practically any material: Hard materials such as Glass, Stone, Ceramic, Granite, Steels as well as softer materials such as Aluminum and Brass.
  • Can be held stationary for scratch, drag engraving or rotated in a machine spindle.
  • Use with a Spring Loaded Engraving Tool and Engrave letters as small as 0.030″ high using a Carbide Point Scribe Tool.
    • 2L has successfully engraved letters 0.030″ (0.76 mm) tall using these tools in combination with a Spring Loaded Engraving Tool with a Heavy Spring on both steel and aluminum.
    • The resulting engraved lines were approximately 0.005″ (0.127 mm) wide and 0.003″ (0.076 mm) deep.
    • Engraving depth can be controlled by changing the feed rate or the spindle speed.

  • Tool Shank Diameters: 1/8″, 11/64″, 3/16″, 1/4″, and metric 4 mm and 6 mm.
  • Included Angles: 30°, 45°, 60°, 90° and 120°.
  • Overall Lengths: 2.0″, 4.5″, 6.5″ and metric 50 mm.
  • Solid Carbide: Produced from premium, ultra-fine nano grade carbide for maximum tool strength.

A 120 degree tip angle is recommended for maximum tool life when used for general purpose engraving.

A Spring Loaded Engraving Tool is recommended when using a Carbide Point Engraving Tool.
