Engraving Tool Starter Kits
This set of tools will familiarize you with our cutters and assist in determining which tool you prefer for the material being engraved.
Standard Conical - for General Purpose Engraving (C)
This general purpose tool can be used to engrave the widest variety of materials.
For use on: Harder materials harder materials such as steels, stainless, and metals. It can also be used for plastic, brass and aluminum.
Tough Tip - for Hard Materials (T)
Its' unique, patent-pending design maximizes the tip strength of the tool.
For use on: Engrave and mark harder materials: stainless steel, metals, tool steel, inconel, hasteloy, hardened steel and more.
Tough Tip Tool for Aluminum (T2) - NEW!
For use on: Aluminum, Brass, Plastic and other gummy materials.
Standard Conical - for Softer Materials (C)
Its' keener cutting edge reduces the chance of burrs on softer materials.
For use on: Gummy and soft materials such as plastics, aluminum, brass and more.
Conical Ballnose (B)
Testing has demonstrated that 2L Conical Ballnose tool can withstand higher cutting forces than standard Ballnose Endmills or tapered Ballnose Endmills.
This Ballnose is for use on: Materials such steel, aluminum and stainless steel as well as an excellent tool for use on acrylic, plastics and more.
Profiler (P)
It can be used to engrave letters that run very close together and for cutting out shapes from solid sheets.
For use on: Materials such as steel, aluminum, plastic, brass and more when requiring very small letters and lines.
Micro-Profiler (P)
Engrave materials requiring extremely small tools and for engraving letters that run very close together.
For use on: Plastic, aluminum and other materials for very small engraving.
Engraving Mill-Drill (M)
Engrave and machine a wide variety of materials from hard steels to soft plastics. Reduce tool changes by using a single tool for several operations: engrave, chamfer, countersink and spot drill.
Engrave, chamfer and countersink: Steel, metals and aluminum and many other materials.
Carbide Point (CP) - NEW!
This tool has produced very small engraved letters (0.030" tall) with a Spring Loaded Tool on steel and aluminum.
For use on: Harder materials such as steel, stainless, glass, stone, ceramic, granite and other very hard materials. It can also be used on aluminum, brass and other softer materials.
2D
Data Matrix UID (DM) - NEW!
A multi-faceted pyramid shaped tool that can be used to create UID (Unique Identification Marks) Barcodes, human readable text, and can be used for cutting through difficult to engrave plating.
Although it is specifically designed to produce 2D Data Matrix Barcodes, it can also be used to produce fine engraving on most materials and works well cutting through plating that is prone to chipping.
Diamond Tip
The Diamond Tip tool produces a very fine line on glass, stone, ceramic, granite, aluminum, brass, steel and more.
For use on: A wide range of hard materials such as glass, stainless, steel, and more. It can also be used on aluminum, brass and other softer materials.
Burnishing (BR)
It is extremely effective when removing plating or coating to expose the metal underneath the coating.
For use on: Burnish and mark aluminum, brass, plated metals and more.
Quarter Round (Q)
The split can create greater chip clearance which makes it effective for gummier materials.
For use on many materials: Plastic, aluminum, brass, steel, metals and more.
Cutter Beveler (CB)
Used for cutting through materials, and the side angle simultaneously produces a 45° bevel or chamfer on the edge of the material.
For use on many materials: Steel, brass, plastic, aluminum and more.
Parallel Cutters (PC)
The standard cutter depth is 3X the diameter up to a maximum depth of 1/2".
For use on many materials: Aluminum, plastic, acrylic and more.
Parallel Ballnose (PB)
Extremely effective for reverse engraving acrylic and 3D engraving applications.
For use on many materials: Aluminum, plastic, acrylic and more.
Pyramid (Y)
This cutter is often used for 3D profiling or for engraving epoxy coated pens.
For use on many materials: Plastic, aluminum, acrylic, steels and more.
